Condolence: Dear Bruce, Janet, Carolyn, and extended family,

My parents and your parents were best of friends for as long as I can remember, and I had a particular fondness for Ben when my dad was dying, and later, an abiding friendship with Dorothy. She and my mom lived in the same high rise on 56th street for years, and I remember how kind she was to me when I had to escape my mother’s mishegas when I visited her.

Dorothy was funny, smart, independent, and caring. She was truly a woman of valor. I will remember her with much love, and it is with much love for all of you that I send my condolences. She was one of a kind.
